  53.      AmigaElm is an "Electronic Mail Reader" which allows you to read and
  54.      write mail. Normally you'd need a properly installed UUCP or IP
  55.      package (eg, AmigaUUCP, Feulner-UUCP, Dillon-UUCP, wUUCP or AmiTCP
  56.      plus INetUtils) to receive and send mail, but AmigaElm is highly
  57.      configurable so that you can take a mail-folder from a UNIX box,
  58.      answer the messages and bring the answers back to the UNIX box.

  60.      AmigaElm is easy to install and to use. The user interface is very
  61.      intuitive and similar to the well-known UNIX "elm". Beginners can
  62.      control all basic functions with menus and some nice GadTools
  63.      requesters. Advanced users can use aliases, prioritized message tagging,
  64.      various filename-offers when saving messages and lots of options to
  65.      configure AmigaElm to fit your needs. In a system with multiple users,
  66.      AmigaElm allows separate configuration files for each user.
  67.  
  68.      AmigaElm can be invoked in a special "terminal mode" (all input/output
  69.      from/to console). This is useful for running AmigaElm in the current
  70.      shell window or over a serial line (eg, with AUX-Handler).

  72.      AmigaElm offers basic internal MIME (multimedia mail) functionality
  73.      (eg, sending 8-bit-text and binaries over 7-bit-lines) and supports
  74.      "MetaMail" (a full-featured package for handling all kinds of MIME
  75.      messages -- also available on AmiNet, see section "AVAILABILITY") and
  76.      "ReqTools" library 2.x (reqtools.library is included).

  78.      AmigaElm has built-in support for cryptographic applications (eg, PGP).
  79.      Encryption and decryption of messages is user-configurable.

  83.      Changes since version 5:  (summary)
  84.       - New section in documentation about AmigaElm and TCP/IP (Internet).
  85.       - S:UUConfig and uulib:Config don't need to exist any longer,
  86.         especially useful for IP-users (AmiTCP, AS225 etc).
  87.       - New config switch: "AppendSignature", do you want to append the
  88.         signature always, never or only if you're not replying to a mail.
  89.       - New config switch: "MetaMail", do you want to start MetaMail on MIME
  90.         messages always, never or should Elm ask before starting MetaMail.
  91.       - A "From " line followed by a second "From " line is now recognized
  92.         as beginning of a new mail message.
  93.       - If started in terminal mode, AmigaElm doesn't run MetaMail in its
  94.         own window (see also "IOWindow").
  95.       - New config switch: "IOWindow" sets characteristics of console I/O
  96.         windows. Better internal defaults for console I/O windows.
